بعد أن انتهت السنة الدراسية الأولى في مدرسة هوجوورتس لتعليم فنون السحر اضطر هاري إلى العودة إلى منزل خالته بتونيا وزوجها السيد درسلي وولدهما ددلي، لم يكن هاري يحب هذا المنزل وكان يتمنى أن تنتهي الإجازة سريعا ليعود إلى المدرسة لكن في إحدى الليالي دخل هاري غرفته ليجد جنيا طيبا جالسا على سريره ويرجوه ألا يعود إلى مدرسة هوجوورتس لماذا؟
