About The Book
 
Al-’Arabiyyah bayna yadayk  This series is designed for the non-Arab speaking, senior level student. With a collection of MP3 CDs it helps the student learn Arabic through listening and conversation along with reading and writing. The series stresses communication and also offers glimpses into the Arabic culture, both Islamic and national. 
 
The first level consists of two parts (books), each of which includes 8 units (total of 16 units). Each unit consists of 9 lessons, constituting a total of 144 basic lessons in this level.
 
The great thing about these books is it covers a lot of vocabulary through pictures, Images and using Arabic Only, introduces the students to grammar later and gradually rather than pushing them at the deep end before they can swim.
 
However, much like Arabic Course for English Speaking Students 3 Vols Set, UKIA, it does not go into much depth and you will find that in majority cases that students who have completed all three books will move onto the third volume of Kitaabul Asaasi to reach a higher competency.

Tests and Evaluations:
 
Two types of tests are included in the first level:
 
1. Short tests: 8 tests in each two units
2. Two comprehensive tests for determining level:
 
Midlevel comprehensive test (at the end of the first book)
Final comprehensive test (at the end of the second book) 
At its end, the first level includes a group of vocabularies with illustrated pictures. It also comprises lists for vocabularies used in each unit and another list for all vocabularies used in the level arranged alphabetically. It also contains listening texts along with an audio CD (8 hours) covering all texts and some of the exercises included.
